Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who was passionate about music. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, old boleros, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is an avid fan of Tangos. She also loves operas as well as any dramatic performance. Her mother teaches her how to sing, however she started more intense training in vocals by Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. Her musical education continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. She sang at Guadalajara, Mexico City and different cities when she was a young scholar and professional. After 2000, she emigrated into America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. Ana is involved in a variety of local initiatives, both as a teacher and performer because of her love of music and art. Ana is also an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as well as members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to be able to share her love for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to encourage younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
